Prof Heffernan’s response to the UK Government’s new commitment to global nutrition

Published: 4th February 2022

‘We were delighted to learn of the UK Government’s £1.5 billion commitment to nutrition over the next eight years. This funding will support nutritional equity for some of the world’s most vulnerable communities but equally, will enable the UK to continue to provide thought leadership in this field. Indeed, this pledge will enable UK scientists and other experts to have a voice at the global table as decisions are being made which will influence global nutritional praxis over the next decade. Hence, this funding is a welcome and positive step forward.’
