Bio

Hilary is part of the UKRI GCRF Action Against Stunting Hub Study (India, Indonesia and Senegal). She is currently part of the Nutrition workstream (led by Elaine Ferguson) which are responsible for protocol development, capacity building and training for the collection and analysis of the following: dietary intake, anthropometry, blood, hair cortisol, breastmilk, maternal stress, social support and depression. Hilary joined LSHTM as a Research Fellow in 2019. She is an epidemiologist and registered dietitian with experience working in academia, NGOs and the NHS. She completed her PhD at UCL in Epidemiology and Health in 2016, using a mixed-methods approach to focus on drug use and opioid substitute treatment in pregnancy and neonatal abstinence syndrome using evidence from electronic health records (The Health Improvement Network and Hospital Episode Statistics). She has held post-doctoral positions at UCL and the University of Surrey.
